Kuressaare Great Bridge

Kuressaare Large Bridge is a historic stone bridge over the Põduste River and one of the town's prominent architectural features. The current dolomite bridge was built around 1820 on the site of an earlier wooden crossing. It is approximately 105 meters long and features twelve arches, making it clearly visible from both the riverbanks and the water. Today it is reserved for pedestrians and looks particularly striking in the evening thanks to modern lighting. It is a quiet walking attraction away from the main tourist spots in Kuressaare and a good landmark for a route between the historic center and coastal areas.
