Pärnu Museum

The Pärnu Museum is the city's main historical museum, offering a view of the development of Pärnu and Pärnu County within the context of Estonian and Baltic regional history. In 2026, a new permanent exhibition opened here, built around four major themes: the early settlement of the region, the history of two medieval towns, the birth of the nation-state, and the transformation of Pärnu into Estonia's summer capital. The exhibition covers over 11,000 years of history, from the first settlements to resort culture and the establishment of the independent republic. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum features an open storage facility with items not typically displayed and gallery spaces for temporary projects. The museum is located in the city center in a reconstructed historic warehouse building.
