Kihnu Lighthouse

Kihnu Lighthouse

Kihnu Lighthouse is a historic tower with sea views in Rootsiküla village on Kihnu island, Pärnu County. Assembled from cast-iron parts, the white tower was erected at the island's southern tip in 1864. In season you can climb up and look out over the Kihnu coast and the sea; the paraffin store beside the tower recalls the site's earlier work. Outside the summer a visit must be arranged in advance and a separate opening fee is added. Getting to the island means planning around the ferry connection and the weather, so the lighthouse works well as one stop on a full day on the island.
