Pärnu Moat

Pärnu Vallikäär is a historic area of former city fortifications, now transformed into one of Pärnu's most beautiful parks and walking routes. A well-maintained promenade runs around the moat, a pedestrian bridge spans the water, and the central fountain forms one of the most recognizable panoramas of this part of the city. Elements of the bastion landscape and passages between the earthen fortifications have been preserved here, recalling the time when Pärnu was a fortress city. The area also features an open-air amphitheater that hosts major city concerts and festivals. Vallikäär is easy to combine in a single walk with the nearby Tallinn Gate, the promenade, and the Old Town.
