Tallinn TV Tower

Tallinn TV Tower is the tallest structure in Estonia and one of the capital's best viewpoints. The 314-metre tower was built for the sailing regatta of the 1980 Olympic Games, and in August 1991 it became one of the symbolic sites of the events that led to the restoration of Estonia's independence. Today the top houses a viewing and learning centre: visitors can look out over the city and the coast, explore an interactive exhibition on the tower's history and, when conditions allow, try a walk along the outer edge of the platform. Set in the green Pirita district, it shows Tallinn on a different scale, from the city and its forests all the way to the Gulf of Finland.
