The drama "Elephant Man" by Rakvere Theatre will reach the large hall of Salme Cultural Center in Tallinn. Bernard Pomerance's play follows Joseph Merrick, who lived in 19th century England, whose rare disease makes him a target for the looks and prejudices of others. Taago Tubin's production asks how to maintain dignity and find closeness in a society that first notices appearance. Merrick is portrayed by Johannes Richard Sepping; on stage are also Imre Õunapuu, Laura Niils, and other actors from Rakvere Theatre. The two-act performance lasts two and a half hours with an intermission. In one scene, smoking occurs on stage.
