James MacMillan, Ava Bahari and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra

A concert by James MacMillan, Ava Bahari and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra takes place at the House of the Blackheads in Tallinn. At the conductor’s podium is Scottish composer James MacMillan, and Ava Bahari appears as violin soloist. The programme combines Benjamin Britten’s “Prelude and Fugue”, MacMillan’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2. It sets the musical thinking of the 20th and 21st centuries beside the classical symphonic tradition. The evening centres on the dialogue between violin and orchestra and the individual sound worlds of composers from different eras. The concert takes place in the White Hall of the House of the Blackheads.
