The educational project “How to Understand Opera” introduces the opera “Othello” on 7 January at the Estonia restaurant in Tallinn. The session is aimed above all at those who want to get to know the opera genre better or prepare for that evening’s performance. Audio and video examples explain the structure of an opera, the work of the composer and librettist, and the roles of the director, singers and other theatre professionals in shaping the work. The programme helps listeners understand how music and drama complement each other and what to look out for when watching an opera. The session is in Estonian, lasts one hour and starts at 17.00.
