LUX AETERNA is a concert of sacred choral music at St John’s Church in Tallinn. On 24 October the Byzantine choir ARTOS from Vilnius performs a programme in which two historical church-singing traditions meet: Byzantine and Gregorian chant. The concert introduces the musical heritage of Eastern and Western Christianity, centred on the human voice, old liturgical melodies and different ways of expressing polyphony. The space of St John’s Church provides a fitting acoustic setting for this repertoire. The concert lasts 70 minutes and is intended for listeners aged five and over.
