Ballet “Luikede järv” (Swan Lake) — Kuressaare

Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Luikede järv” (Swan Lake) is performed on 10 January at the Kuressaare Sports Centre, closing the Vanemuine National Theatre’s “Kultuurilaine üle mere” festival. The production by the Czech choreographer Petr Zuska offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic ballet story. Prince Siegfried seeks contact with the memory of his lost mother and moves on the border between dreams and reality, learning to come to terms with love and loss. The production combines neoclassical dance language, strong visual symbolism and Tchaikovsky’s music. The guest performance in Kuressaare starts at 16.00 and lasts 2 hours 15 minutes.
