Tragicomedy “Mägede iluduskuninganna” (The Beauty Queen of Leenane) — 6 January 2027

Martin McDonagh’s tragicomedy “Mägede iluduskuninganna” (The Beauty Queen of Leenane) is performed on 6 January at the Kuressaare Theatre. The guest production by the Vanemuine National Theatre tells of a mother and daughter living in the west of Ireland, whose everyday life is full of tension and mutual dependence. Maureen’s wish to find love and independence collides with her mother Mag’s fear of being left alone. Director Ain Mäeots uses dark humour and sharp dialogue to open up complicated family relationships. The cast includes Liina Tennosaar, Ragne Pekarev, Oskar Seeman and Ain Mäeots. Tickets are sold out.
