Exhibition opening: Triin Türnpuu “The Garden of Misty Gazes”

On Friday 23 October 2026 from 17.00 to 19.00 the opening of artist Triin Türnpuu’s exhibition “Uduste pilkude aed” takes place at the Kuressaare Town Hall Gallery. The exhibition is made from used optical spectacle lenses that form a new visual landscape through light, reflections and distortions. The work deals with seeing and not seeing and with how people perceive the world around them differently. The artist was inspired by a personal experience with her son, who saw the familiar home garden differently after getting new corrective lenses. Triin Türnpuu studied ceramics at Kuressaare Vocational School and the Estonian Academy of Arts and completed a master’s degree in contemporary art. The opening will also announce the winner of the art competition “Saaremaa kunstiteos”, the audience favourite and the recipients of special prizes.
