The tragicomedy “Nimi” (The Name) by the Vanemuine National Theatre is performed on 4 January at the Kuressaare Theatre as part of the “Kultuurilaine üle mere” festival. The play by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière begins with a shared dinner of friends and relatives. When soon-to-be father Vincent reveals the name he plans for his child, a sharp argument erupts. The original name question grows into deeper disagreements, hidden feelings and personal reproaches. In Tanel Jonas’ production the cast is Kaarel Pogga, Ken Rüütel, Robert Annus, Liisa Pulk and Maria Annus. Smoking is portrayed on stage.
