Pärnu Church of the Transfiguration

Pärnu Church of the Transfiguration

Pärnu Church of the Transfiguration is an Orthodox church on Aia Street in central Pärnu. The historicist church building was completed in 1904 and became the home church of the local Estonian-speaking Orthodox congregation. Its yellowish brick walls and tall bell tower, visible from far across the town, stand out. Inside are an iconostasis and religious wall compositions. The church is used for the congregation's religious life, so visitors should be mindful of services and church customs. Its exterior architecture can be admired on a walk through central Pärnu.
