On 23 January the Pärnu City Orchestra performs a programme linked to Gustav Mahler’s Ninth Symphony at Pärnu Concert Hall. The orchestra is led by chief conductor Henri Christofer Aavik, under whom the ensemble’s 33rd season continues. Mahler’s Ninth is among the most important works of late-Romantic orchestral music, and its large-scale musical dramaturgy leaves room for both intimate and powerful orchestral sound. The concert offers a chance to hear Pärnu’s professional symphony orchestra performing large-scale symphonic repertoire. The concert starts at 19.00 at Pärnu Concert Hall.
