Museum of Coastal Folk

Museum of Coastal Folk

The Museum of Coastal Folk is in Pringi village, Viimsi parish, and focuses on the history of Estonia’s coastal people, maritime culture and the way of life in coastal villages. Its exhibitions and programmes cover fishing, seafaring, the daily life of coastal communities and sea-related heritage from different eras. The museum operates in a historic schoolhouse and, besides the permanent exhibition, organises changing exhibitions, educational programmes and cultural events. It is a rewarding stop on the Viimsi peninsula for anyone who wants to understand how northern Estonia’s coastal villages relate to the sea and local identity.
