Martin McDonagh’s tragicomedy “The Beauty Queen of Leenane” is performed on 28 October at the Tartu Harbour Theatre (Sadamateater). The Irish playwright’s story focuses on the difficult life together of the mother Mag and her adult daughter Maureen. Everyday conflicts, mutual dependence and unfulfilled dreams become especially sharp when Pato enters Maureen’s life. In Ain Mäeots’s production the cast is Liina Tennosaar, Ragne Pekarev, Oskar Seeman and Ain Mäeots. The two-act work combines dark humour with family drama and explores themes of loneliness, control and freedom. The performance lasts two hours and forty minutes.
