Exhibition “Kes jääb ellu? Tartu 19. sajandi terviseloterii” (Who Will Survive? Tartu’s 19th-Century Health Lottery)

The exhibition “Kes jääb ellu? Tartu 19. sajandi terviseloterii” (Who Will Survive? Tartu’s 19th-Century Health Lottery) is open at the 19th-Century Townsman Museum in Tartu. Attention is paid to hygiene, nutrition, medicinal plants, pharmacy herbs and the role of the University of Tartu in the development of medical knowledge. The exhibition invites visitors to think about what people’s health choices depended on and how reliable advice from different sources was considered to be. It remains open until 28 March 2027.

from 30 September 2026 to 28 March 2027. The exhibition is already open. In the winter season the museum is open Wednesday to Sunday 10.00–15.00, last entry 14.30.
