“Autumn Sonata” is a guest performance by Rakvere Theatre in the theatre hall of the Estonian National Museum in Tartu. The drama, based on Ingmar Bergman’s work, deals with the difficult relationship between a mother and her daughter, years of estrangement and the effect of choices made in the past. The internationally successful concert pianist Charlotte visits her daughter Eva, who has become a small-town pastor’s wife, after seven years away. The reunion brings out old grievances, unfulfilled expectations and different meanings of love. The performance takes place on 6 November at 19.00 and, with its two acts, lasts 2 hours 35 minutes.
