Open House Tartu

The Open House Tartu architecture festival opens up the city from an unusual perspective for two days, featuring over 200 free guided tours of Tartu's buildings and streets. In 2026, participants are shown 21 buildings and four thematic street tours are conducted — ranging from the Town Hall, the main building of the University of Tartu, and Villa Tammekann to modern educational, archival, and office buildings, sacred architecture, and industrial heritage sites. Some routes provide access to spaces that are usually closed to the general public. Most tours are in Estonian, with English-language tours available for many objects. Advance registration is required for certain tours, while others admit visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
