Thank You, the Performance Is Over!

“Thank You, the Performance Is Over!” is a production of the Vanemuine National Theatre that premieres on 23 January 2027 at 19.00 in the Small House of Vanemuine in Tartu. The story begins after a performance has ended, when the audience has left and five actors are getting ready to leave the theatre. Unexpectedly it turns out that the outside world has disappeared and the actors cannot get out of the building. They have worked together for years but know each other little outside their stage roles. Their communication begins to develop through scenes from earlier performances, and personal memories and tensions come to the surface. The production looks at the identity of the actor, the world of theatre and a person’s relationship with their roles. Comic, absurd and tragic situations are intertwined in the plot.
