Tallinn TV Tower

Viewpoints

Tallinn TV Tower

Tallinn TV Tower is the tallest structure in Estonia and one of the capital's best viewpoints. The 314-metre tower was built for the sailing regatta of the 1980 Olympic Games, and in August 1991 it became one of the symbolic sites of the events that led to the restoration of Estonia's independence. Today the top houses a viewing and learning centre: visitors can look out over the city and the coast, explore an interactive exhibition on the tower's history and, when conditions allow, try a walk along the outer edge of the platform. Set in the green Pirita district, it shows Tallinn on a different scale, from the city and its forests all the way to the Gulf of Finland.

Indicative price: Adult ticket €18–19; concession €13–14; family €36–37 (online/at the ticket office). Additional attractions are paid separately.

Türisalu Cliff

Viewpoints

Türisalu Cliff

Türisalu Cliff is in Türisalu village, Harju County, and its viewing platform offers a wide view of the Gulf of Finland and Vääna-Jõesuu beach. The limestone bank rises more than thirty metres above the sea. The platform is easy to reach from the roadside, but take care near the edge and keep a safe distance from it. If you like, you can also explore the area along the paths running beside the cliff. It is a stop on a short trip around Harju County, where the sea view and the geology of the limestone cliff are the main reasons to visit.

Pakri Lighthouse

Viewpoints

Pakri Lighthouse

Pakri Lighthouse is a visitable navigation mark and viewpoint at the tip of the Pakri peninsula in the town of Paldiski, Harju County. The present stone tower was completed in 1889 at a distance from the earlier tower, because the crumbling clint coast had made the old site dangerous. The tower offers views over the Gulf of Finland, the limestone cliff and the peninsula's wide coastline. As you drive towards it, you can see how the lighthouse appears from the sea and how the high limestone bank shapes the landscape. Entry is by ticket, and outside the summer season regular visits are possible at weekends.

Indicative price: Adult ticket €5; pupils and pensioners €3; family ticket €15.
