La traviata

“La traviata” is Giuseppe Verdi’s opera, brought by the Vanemuine National Theatre to the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn on 5 December. Director Samuel Harjanne moves the story from 19th-century Paris to the art deco 1920s, drawing inspiration from the films “Moulin Rouge!”, “Pretty Woman” and “The Great Gatsby”. The production premiered in April 2026 at Vanemuine’s main house and is part of the theatre’s December series of performances in Tallinn. It lasts about 2 hours 40 minutes; reduced tickets are available for pupils and pensioners.
