Glenn Miller Orchestra directed by Uli Plettendorff

The Glenn Miller Orchestra concert, conducted by Uli Plettendorff, takes place at Vanemuine Concert Hall in Tartu. The big band, touring Europe, continues the swing and jazz tradition of the 1930s–1950s, bringing to the stage the characteristic sound of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The programme features dance-orchestra music of the era, including the famous “Moonlight Serenade”. Plettendorff has been associated with the orchestra as a trombonist and now continues as the leader of the ensemble. The concert introduces the varied repertoire of a large jazz orchestra, the interplay of instrument sections and the melodies of the swing era. The evening lasts two hours and ten minutes including an interval.
