Conservators' Week special programme “The Secret Life of Paper and How to Save It”

The National Archives' Conservators' Week special programme takes place in Tartu at the Noora main building on Nooruse Street. Visitors get into the conservators' laboratory, which is usually closed to the public, and learn how moisture, light, acids and time damage paper. The programme includes experiments demonstrating the properties of paper and a try at safely repairing a torn document. The session helps you understand how to preserve old letters, photographs and other family documents at home. Participation is free, but places are limited, so advance registration is required.
