The Vanemuine Theatre Advent concert takes place on 20 December at St Paul’s Church in Tartu. The festive pre-Christmas programme features Giacomo Puccini’s “Messa di Gloria” together with beloved Christmas carols. The Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, the Vanemuine Opera Choir and the Tartu University Student Mixed Choir perform. The soloists are tenor Heldur Harry Põlda and Kristjan Häggblom, and Risto Joost conducts. The large-scale concert combines the tradition of sacred music with well-known Christmas melodies. The acoustics of St Paul’s Church give choral and orchestral music a special sound environment. It starts at 18.00.
