Concert production “Igaühel oma pill” (Everyone Has Their Own Instrument) — 9 December

The folk music concert production “Igaühel oma pill” (Everyone Has Their Own Instrument) takes place on 9 December at the Viljandi Pärimusmuusika Ait. The programme created by the Estonian Traditional Music Centre introduces young people to Estonian folk instruments, their stories and the importance of playing them in cultural history. Young folk musicians linked to the Viljandi Culture Academy, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Heino Eller Music School perform. The sounds of the fiddle, kannel, bagpipe, button accordion and other folk instruments are heard. Alongside the music, the role of tradition in community identity is explored. The production for school audiences lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.
