Noah Haidle’s romantic drama “Sünnipäevaküünlad” (Birthday Candles) is performed on 6 November in the main hall of Ugala Theatre in Viljandi. Andres Noormets’ production follows one woman’s life over almost a century, moving through birthdays, family relationships, love and loss. On stage the heroine travels from young womanhood to a great age while those around her and their circumstances change. The play invites reflection on the passing of time and on which moments and people matter most in life. It is Andres Noormets’ hundredth directing work. The performance lasts 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval.
