On 21 October 2026 from 17.15 to 18.45 the video room of the children’s and young adults’ literature hall of Viljandi Town Library hosts an Estonian-language language café. The meeting is for people whose mother tongue is not Estonian and who want to practise everyday spoken communication. Native Estonian speakers can also take part, helping to create opportunities to hear and use the language. Jane Haavel is involved in running the language café and can be contacted for more information. Meetings are held on Wednesdays and participation is free for everyone. The activity is supported through a project supporting new immigrants and beneficiaries of international protection carried out in the city of Viljandi with the participation of the European Union and the city.
