Hot Summer ’93

The documentary drama “Kuum suvi ’93” comes to the small hall of Ugala Theatre in Viljandi. Written and directed by Tiit Palu, the story looks at the background of the 1993 autonomy referendum in Narva and Sillamäe and the fragile situation of the Estonian state at the time. Major political decisions unfold through a meeting of two people in which memories, doubts and personal choices intertwine. On stage are Hendrik Toompere and Luisa Lõhmus. The production invites reflection on borders, belonging and how the past shapes the present. The performance lasts one hour and forty minutes.
